Sri Lanka inflicted upon England the heaviest defeat in terms of runs in ODI history to clinch a morale-boosting victory in Colombo.
Sri Lanka's N Dickwella and skipper Dinesh Chandimal set up a crushing 219 runs win by DLS method a much changed England on Tuesday to end their one day international series on a high.
Opener Dickwella smashed 95 and Chandimal 80 to held Sri Lanka to made their highest ever ODI total against England and the visitor slumped to just 132-9 when rain stopped play in the 27th over.
England had come into the match an unassiable 3-0 series lead and opted to make three changes to their bowling attack with regular captain Eoin Morgan also resting himself and handing the reins to Jos Buttler.
The weakness bowling attack seemed to have aided Sri Lanka as they put up a massive 366-6 , buyend by quick fires half centuries from their top four batsman after the winning the toss and opted to bat first.
